Georgia recently enacted Senate Bill 202, an elections omnibus that builds upon many of Georgia’s strong election policies while enacting several practices that make voting easier and are commonly advocated by progressives. Several lawsuits have been filed challenging numerous provisions of the bill on the grounds that they violate Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act (VRA) and the 14th Amendment by placing an unconstitutional burden on the fundamental right to vote. 

LDF recently published a New Page highlighting the flaws in these arguments by showing how numerous states across the country have similar, valid election procedures in place, demonstrating that Senate Bill 202’s provisions are solidly within the mainstream.
