Court Strikes Down Two-Tier Voter Registration in Kansas

On Friday, January 15, a Kansas state court struck down Kansas’ two-tier voter registration system.  Prior to the ruling, Kansas had only allowed those who registered using a federal voter registration form to vote in federal elections, as the form does not meet the proof-of-citizenship requirements for registration under Kansas law.  The full opinion is here.
