According to the Washington Times, Montana Secretary of State Linda McCulloch is proposing automatic, mandatory voter registration even though her term is ending and she is term-limited out of running for the office again.  The Lawyers Democracy Fund (LDF) is bringing this issue to the attention of legislators across the country as bad public policy where state and federal government actors are seeking to force citizens to register to vote.  The right to not vote or not register to vote is free speech that should not be interfered with by public officials.
